I’m excited to announce I have added (Virtual) Hair Density and Scalp Management to my list of services over on my shop! I’m now a Certified Trichologist, so I can consult with clients in the U.S. specifically about these issues.
Right now you can try this service for 50% off!
Hair loss is not just cosmetic, it’s a sign of what is going on in your body and on your scalp. I understand how complicated it can be to treat hair loss - or even just to understand why it’s happening.
If you’re tired of being told to use Minoxidil as the dermatologist walks out the door (no shade - they’re super-busy); or that your scalp looks fine, this service is for you! Your treatment preferences, your schedule, your goals and your budget are front and center.
Look, I know how hard this can be. Most people I communicate with have already tried one or more treatments and stopped them because they make hair look or feel awful, because they have side effects you can't tolerate, because they are difficult to use. That's what I'm here for. To find something you can use - long term. Because your treatment cannot be successful if you don't like using it. I know a lot of tricks and ways to manage or adapt treatments. Ways to increase benefits while decreasing side effects.
Whether you already have a diagnosed condition, or are in that process of learning the cause of hair loss or scalp discomfort, I can recommend over the counter treatments, and design a treatment plan that works with your lifestyle. If you already have prescription treatments - I can help you find ways to make them work their best, and check for interactions.
We’ll work with your healthcare providers, to assure your concerns are addressed and set goals we can reach along the way.
hi wendy
ReplyDeletei want to know something
in the hair conditionar that we use after shampoo, it it contains oils glycrine and emulsifiers, and it silicon free, if i just use water to wash it, it is enough or it will leave a hard waterproof film on my hair and build-up
i have a problem with things that can make a water proof film like silicons or veslaine, i don't have a problem if it leave somethings that moisturizing my hair but without a waterproof film
and i listened that oils make a water proof layer on skin and hair and also silicons so and this film we can'tsee ,It prevents water from reaching the hair and skin. does it true? if it's true does it becomes different with the conditionars Because it is designed to leave hair soft without buildup or blocking water from reaching the hair.even if it contains oils?
if you can pls explain to me and where is the true and if i can buy a conditionar like this With reassurance
Hello Ha, Conditioners do leave a "film" on hair because they must in order to reduce static and tangling. But it's not a solid film, it's not completely waterproof, and it does not keep water out when you wash your hair.
ReplyDeleteIf you do not use shampoo, and only wash your hair with water, you will not remove oils (or emulsifiers) effectively. That won't make your hair waterproof. But it will change how it feels and behaves.
When people say oils leave a waterproof layer on skin (or hair) they are oversimplifying. Unless you have completely soaked your hair in oil for hours, water will move into the hair. People can run into problems if they use a lot of oil in their hair, but those problems are not just "oil is a waterproof film."
Most conditioners cannot prevent water from moving into your hair. If the conditioner is rich in butters or oils, it may cause hair to act a little waterproof. The solution for that is not to use an oil-rich conditioner.
of course i use shampoo always, but i mean i use sulfate shampoo so i need to use conditionar after using shampoo , i leave it for 2 minutes on my hair then i wash it of with water, how to know that the conditionar is safe to use like what i want and it not an oil-rich?
ReplyDeleteWater-only washing was something that people did a few years ago!
DeleteLook for conditioners with oils or butter (like shea butter) listed near the end of the ingredient list. Ingredients are usually listed in the order ingredients occur - highest at the start and lowest near the end.
know i found this conditionar and i want to show you the ingredients to tell me if i can use it like how i want, it's vegan and Free from Silicones, Paraffins, Phthalates & Colorants
ReplyDeleteingredients, Aqua, Cetearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Glycerin, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Parfum, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Benzyl Benzoate, Linalool, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Potassium Sorbate.
and another something, now i use a shampoo and the ingredients is water, sodium laureth sulfate, cocamide dea, cocamidpropyl betain, diazolidinyl urea, sodium chloride, citric acid, polyquaternium-7, plant marrow, propylene glycol, glycrine, parfum
so about polyquaternium 7 I know that Polyquaternium 7 is a mild buildup ingredient, but I was afraid that it would build up too much, or create a water-resistant layer on my hair with repeated shampooing, especially since I sometimes use this shampoo 3 times in one wash to remove silicone or some heavy masks. But I asked chat gpt, and he told me not to worry because this ingredient is in a shampoo that contains strong detergents and not a cream that is left on the hair, and these detergents prevent accumulation, and if a little of it happens and remains on my hair, the next wash removes what came before it, so is it true?
Chat GPT "learns" everything it "knows" from reading what is already published on the internet.
DeleteThis conditioner doesn't look likely to leave your hair acting waterproof. I hope you will like that formula!
Polyquaternium-7 in your shampoo isn't likely to leave hair feeling waterproof either. Your shampoo can remove residue, so you should not have a problem.
Thank you, Wendy for your help
DeleteCan I also use an anti-dandruff shampoo with this shampoo, which also contains Polyquaternium 7 and jojoba oil, i usually use it after my sulfate shampoo, and sometimes alone with free sulfate shampoo
That should be fine to use an anti-dandruff shampoo also, when you need it. It sounds like you are shampooing twice, the Polyquaternium-7 and Jojoba oil might help prevent dryness. Watch how your hair responds to the products.
DeleteWhat about oils, serums and leave-ins? Can I still use them after shampooing or is it because hair is considered dead fiber and doesn't absorb the ingredients like skin does? Will these products create a water proof layer on my hair?
DeleteOr if you could tell me some ingredients I could look for in a product I could use to moisturize my hair after showering.؟
Hair fibers can absorb some ingredients in oils and serums. The job of oils and many serums is to make hair smoother and slippery. It may help it resist frizzing in humidity. Unless you use a large amount of the product and didn't wash it out, it won't keep water out of your hair.
DeleteIngredients like these in conditioners are especially good for moisturizing hair after showering: https://science-yhairblog.blogspot.com/2014/07/film-forming-humectants-what-they-are.html
